I love Bioware and I love the series, Mass Effect 3 being a terrific culmination to the trilogy, just up until the deus ex machina ending(s). It was just so heartbreaking and didn't give any closure. Thank you for giving voice to the fan's concerns, I hope something will come from this and Bioware will give us an ending that can give long-time fans a sense of satisfaction.

Thank you so much for your kind words. They really mean a lot. I want to do everything I can to help heal the heartbreak caused by all of this, for me and other fans.

I do too, and I’m holding out hope. Bioware has always cared about its fan’s opinions. They’ve proved it several times. I’m not willing to give up on the ME3 ending just yet.

I'm amazed that you have the energy to go through so many replies and counter them, but you do it so eloquently and well where I would just have replied with /flip-a-table gif. Keep doing the good work.

Oh my goodness, thank you so much! I’m just trying to help out, there are so many devastated fans, me included, and I can’t bear just standing aside and allowing that to happen. I may not be able to represent all the fans, but I can do my best to give them representation that will make them proud.

Honestly, my love for Mass Effect is what’s probably fueling me right now, because I’m usually never this on top of things. I just want to make a difference. Mass Effect has been such a source of joy for me and to see it end like that… I can’t just stand aside and not try to do something, for me and all the other devastated fans. Besides, I think this is a better use of my energy than wallowing around in despair. That was getting really old.

Thanks for the encouragement! If you (or anyone else out there) have any suggestions for me and the blog, I’m open to them. I want represent everyone as effectively and accurately as possible. c:

Iiiits a small world after all: ME3 Endings and a plea to Bioware. Warning, spoiler included, if you don't wish to know then don't read → astralline.tumblr.com

astralline:

Dear Bioware,

I wish to make a plea of you. I have been a loyal fan of the company since I first picked up Dragon Age, then Mass Effect a number of months later. I avoided all the spoilers and the script leak but then finally worried I caved in and looked about to see if Garrus would survive Mass Effect 3….then I happened on the endings that involved Shepard and I wasn’t impressed…in truth I bawled my eyes out.

Where is the closure? Where is the end to Shepard’s tale? under a pile of rubble while his/her love interest remains heart broken that he/she will never see them again?

Where is the good and bad endings? There’s nothing, just one empty bitter void in which you need 5000 or 4000 EMS before you get a small gasp for breath under rubble.

What is that?! That’s just…..one big empty hole. That’s our Perfect Ending? just…no…for god’s sake no….

Bioware you’ve actually given me some semblance of a social life on here, hell I have a -boyfriend- something I honestly thought would never happen. It’s thanks to my interest of Mass Effect that I’ve finally achieved some happiness of my own. And here I thought I was just a door mat.

You guys created characters with depth and gave them life…then you screw around with them like this. You lost approval points from me for that. Here I was hoping to finally see Garrus happy and then this curveball is tossed.

This is unfair, I feel cheated. Cheated that people have to rely on online multiplayer in order to get the result they want while those who either don’t have as good internet capabilities or are stuck under a limited cap per month get nothing or are stuck with endings like the ones you gave us.

I feel cheated as the role player of two Shepards who are 99% likely to die. I know war isn’t pretty but you’d think the chances would be made more even to have a good ending. This…isn’t fair. It really isn’t…there he/she has the chance to be happy…and they only get a few small sections in a year… this isn’t the way.

So I wish to make a plea Bioware; for your loyal story fans, for Roleplayers who don’t wish to kill their Shepards for the sake of this, for the new people who only just got introduced into this, for the fans who have been with the Mass Effect project ever since the beginning.

Please, make or develop a DLC, something that will give us the ending to end all endings, a truly perfect ending where Shepard lives and can be with their love interest fully retired and happy despite the results. I beg of you, a perfect ending isn’t perfect until there’s a satisfying conclusion behind it. This is my request otherwise I will never fully finish ME3 because it’s just too hard and a bitter pill to swallow knowing that there isn’t a better alternative out there.

I don’t care for price, just please grant my one request for a truly happy ending with a surviving Shepard with or without a love interest

With regards

~Sara Jane

Hello new followers!

And welcome the the resistance. Currently there are only 6 of you, but the word is just getting out about this blog so I didn’t expect a huge influx just yet.

So far Bioware has not made any official or unoffical statements other than the Tweet from Michael Gamble’s twitter in response to the Retake Mass Effect movement. I’m keeping a carefull eye out around the Bioware Social Network and other such corners of the internet for any news and I’ll be sure to let you all know as soon as anything comes up.

On a lighter note, the sister facebook page to this blog has already gotten over 1,500 likes and that number is only going up! 1,500 is quite a lot when considering it’s only been a small number of days since the game’s release.

In the meantime while we wait for action from Bioware, please promote this blog and recommend it to any other Tumblr fans who are outraged over the ending and want to make a difference. I’ll make sure to put links to the Facebook page and twitter account in the about section.

Also, as the phrase #RetakeMassEffect has become the twitter slogan for the movement, I encourage you guys to use it as the tag on any posts related to what we’re trying to do. If you make a post complaining about the endings, suggesting ways for Bioware to fix the endings, or anything else, tag “RetakeMassEffect”. It will be the best way to compile the posts for Bioware to show just how many of us are angered and how much we care about a new ending for the series.

Hold the line!
