Are you guys serious? Protesting an ending? Come on, man. Grow up. The point of any RPG is to tell a story. The ending wasn’t perfect because the story wasn’t about sunshine and happiness. It was about a war. If you paid attention to anything Shepard said through the entire series you’d know there was gonna be sacrifices and tough decisions to make. Nothing was ideal to begin with. Did anyone want Mufasa and Anakin Skywalker to die, or for a vague ending to Inception? No, but that was the story the developers wanted to tell. You don’t have to like an ending to respect it.
Our issue is not with the fact that the ending was sad or difficult. We understand that war garners loss and strife and we accept that. Our issue with the ending is that Bioware promised us on several occasions that our choices would impact our ending. That didn’t happen at all. The ending was the same, across the board, just with different colors of space magic. It was poorly written, poorly executed, and pulled together by a random Deus Ex Machina element that was given no prior exposition or explanation. When promised an ending that would answer all questions, we were given one that only left more unanswered.
And once again, I will use a point from a previous argument similar to the one you stated: “No, but that was the story the developers wanted to tell. You don’t have to like an ending to respect it.”
“Bioware made a point to listen to feedback from their fans at several points through the trilogy. Take the Garrus and Tali romance options for example. The writers had never intended to make them available as LIs, but they responded to consumer demand and did so. Same thing with making Kaiden available as a LI for Male Shepard in ME3. By doing things like that they set a standard for their fans. They’ve expressed several times over twitter and facebook that our feedback is important to them and shapes how they create the game. They wantedus to help them shape the series. Even the default Female Shepard appearance was decided by fanbase. Also, unlike a [movie/book], the possibility of adding other endings to satisfy their customers is completely plausible through DLC. It would not be extraordinarily straining on them and would make their fans much happier. Rallying for that opportunity, one presented to us regularly over the course of the ME games, is not ‘whiny’, ‘pathetic’, and does not bring us to a whole new level of ‘nerdy entitlement.’ It’s become expected. It’s why we love Bioware.”
This is what makes the ME3 ending rally different from what you’re suggesting. Bioware has aways tried to tailor it’s games to the requests of the fanbase. We do not need to “grow up”m we are making a perfectly reasonable request. Now please, try to be more courteous, your condescending nature is highly uncalled for.

If Bioware does make an alternate ending/s, I demand that it’s free. Not some DLC or something.
