I’m sorry that you feel frustrated, it was never my intention to irritate or annoy you. And once again, we don’t exactly want a fairy tale ending. A happier ending should be an option, a difficult one to achieve albeit, but an option. I mean, in ME2 they sent you on a suicide mission. Getting out of that unscathed was unrealistic, that was war, but Bioware still allowed it to happen. But I would also like to see an ending where, surprise, you totally fail. The Reapers annihilate you and everything in the galaxy. The three current endings should still stand, creating more is not coping out, it’s fulfilling the expectation we were given when Bioware said there would be multiple endings.I liked the DA2 ending, lots of people did. There were also a lot who didn’t, but not nearly as many who don’t like the ME3 ending. I’ve shown you one source of proof, and offered you another showing the staggering amount of disappointment. I respect your opinion, and you are entitled to it, but please consider this. You are okay with the endings, and even if we succeed and get new ones added, how does that affect your Shepard’s story? Many of us feel cheated. If there is a chance for us to get a more satisfying ending, why is that so bad?

Why is this so bad? Because Bioware has had this story planned out for years. You’re asking them to change a story that they have worked hard on. Whether you feel like they failed you or not. People worked hard on how to end this particular story arc. You don’t have to like it, but think of it that way. This is how they wanted Shepard’s story to end, and you don’t have to like it but you should accept it.
How would you feel if you worked on a story for years, you put your heart and soul into it and a handful of people demand you rewrite it?

I feel like you completely overlooked my points about Bioware tailoring the Mass Effect game according to the customer’s preferences on several occasions, which sets it completely apart from your novel comparison. They’ve said several times they want us to enjoy the story, and we did up until the last 15 minutes. Asking them to  supplement the ending is different from asking them to rewrite it and it’s not asking much. Just some DLC to satisfy, I’ll state once again because it’s not “a handful”, the unsatisfied majority. We are paying customers, we were promised variety in endings, and we have a right to be upset when that promise is not fulfilled. I appreciate their efforts, and I love the company, but they are working to produce a product for sale and our opinion factors largely into that.
Honestly, if I wrote a novel and my readers made as big of an uproar over the ending as the Retake Mass Effect movement is over this, I’d figure I must have done something wrong. If most people are saying it’s bad, it’s probably bad.
